MiniMoCA, a 1:6 miniature gallery of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Patchogue, officially opened in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, July 17. Artists Rob Stenzel, Roya Jenner, and Maya Kawachi were celebrated for a triumph of ingenuity and devotion to art—in all sizes.

The Patchogue Arts Council (PAC) is pleased to announce Paint the Great South Bay 2021
Plein Air Event, Exhibit, and Wet Paint Sale. The Patchogue Arts Council invites artists to paint en plein air along the Great South Bay, ranging from Smith Point Beach to The Fire Island lighthouse. Proceeds from this event help the Patchogue Arts Council continue to create events and programming that encourage, promote, and support the arts on Long Island.

SEA of Visibility, an exciting arts-education group, has taken up residence in Patchogue and partnered with a Goliath of the eastern arts scene, Patchogue Arts Council/Museum of Contemporary Art.
SEA of Visibility is an organization that embraces BIPOC, queer and disabled artists and allies, focusing on neurodiversity and mental health. It “supports expression through the arts” (SEA) and promotes destigmatization and integration through multidisciplinary arts exhibitions, performances and art-making programs. It provides peer and professional support and offers coping and compensatory strategies for its participants, helping to create art that broadens the greater community’s vision of what mental illness is.

One of the featured artists, mixed media artist Roya Jenner, created the piece “Safe Space” for the exhibition. In her artist statement, Jenner said she “wanted to express how everyone has an identity, that although different – everyone is equal…You can’t really pick your BINGO cards… what you get is what you get and you take ownership of them and hope for the best …I hand drew in LGBTQ symbols showing just some of the identities that humans identify with. Note that the center square says SAFE SPACE. This translates to that all have equal access to a ‘safe’ & free space to be themselves.”
